Ignore what I said about being “music’d out;” these guys are really great. I saw them Saturday at the El Ten Eleven show. They’re local and just really really good. Y’all should listen.

Seatbelt Hands by Listener (live)

she was born on the fourth of july
with her hand on her heart.
she loves america
and being patronized
no one ever told her
to guard her heart.
well she was an angel
for halloween once but never again
and for christmas every year
she’s haunted by demons.

they always tell her they love her.

ugh this venue looks so cool. it’s where i would be going to see old gray, have mercy, caravels, prawn, and i kill giants this saturday if i had money/someone to go with.

Kicks n Licks - Black Bear

I hope you’re reading for some filth, because this is one of the grimiest tracks I have heard in a long time. Kicks n Licks are a duo from San Diego and just released their second EP, The Expedition, about a month ago. They really explored a lot of cool sounds and elements with the EP, but this new track is out of this world. Take a listen. -Josh

I dedicate this to JT who will appreciate the sound clips of a bear attack, thus spiting Amanda.

Disclosure feat. Eliza Doolittle - You & Me (Baauer Remix)

After the incessantly annoying Harlem Shake, I was wondering what we could expect next from Baauer, and this is it. I am addicted.

Disclosure are British brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence and they produce music that takes you right back to the early Garage scene here in the UK, with influences of House and UK Funky thrown in for good measure. Their energy and enthusiasm that comes across in their music is an obvious indicator of how committed they are to this scene and to the aesthetic of their music.

The original track that was put out 3 weeks ago, around a month ahead of their debut album ‘Settle’ already had the potential to hit clubs and live audiences alike HARD. But Baauer tears it a new one.

Baauer takes this track from strength to strength. The already strong vocals from Eliza Doolittle are given a new lease of life in this remix, they come in hard and fast. Baauer’s overall production is defiantly to be praised, his use of synth and drums are what makes this track stand out so much, it could happily be an original. Granted he has somewhat changed the genre from UK Garage towards Trap, but he has done so with eloquence and respect towards the work that Disclosure put into the original. I would go so far to say that I prefer this to the original.

We have an addictive slice of bassy heaven here, and I can guarantee it will be on repeat for days to come -Oliver.

Disclosure’s debut album ‘Settles’ is out on June 3rd.
Release of this remix is May 21st.

B.o.B - Through My Head (Official Music Video) [Explicit]

Just a few hours ago, B.o.B released this new track and video, and I have to say, both the song and the video blew me away. The song is super mellow, has a lot of rock elements, and deals with some heavy stuff like government, class, privilege, the economy, etc. The video has a really cool futuristic, almost Judge Dredd-like theme.

B.o.B’s new album will be titled Underground Luxury and due out sometime this summer. I’ve heard he also has a rock EP in the works, which would definitely be interesting and hopefully more successful than Lil Wayne and Kid Cudi’s attempts at it. -Josh

Charlotte Martin - Wild Horses

I heard this song on Philadelphia’s WXPN this morning. It’s a pretty simple song—a cover of the Rolling Stones song—but it’s elegantly done. I especially like the harsh dissonance of some of the piano chords; it’s not something you hear terribly often in singer-songwriter pieces. -Tom
